PolyShield performs this

Premium 2K polyurea waterproofing

Premium 2K polyurea waterproofing as a complete waterproofing route for larger commercial roofs and concrete roofs and terraces.

  1. 01Inspect roof structure, moisture and details
  2. 02Cleaning and repairing weak areas
  3. 03Apply primer and detail reinforcement
  4. 04Waterproof membrane delivered in a controlled manner

From damage picture to solution

Problem, cause and effect first visible.

01 / PROBLEM

Aged roof layers, open seams or vulnerable details allow water to enter.

02 / POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • UV and weather loads
  • Movement of seams and connections
  • Overdue maintenance or previous emergency repairs
03 / CONSEQUENCES OF DELAY

Moisture can damage insulation, interior, installations and business processes.

04 / POLYSHIELD ROUTE

A project-specific renovation of the substrate, details, primer and continuous membrane.

The cause is determined project-specifically. This structure is a decision route and not a remote diagnosis.

Business benefits

The value is not just in the new layer.

01

Lifespan

Maintain a technically suitable roof structure and postpone replacement.

02

Continuity

Organize renovation per work area around the use of the building.

03

Risk management

Include critical details before consequential damage occurs.

04

Maintenance

Create an inspectable and locally recoverable system route.

RISK OF DELAY

Delay can allow local defects to progress to wet insulation, larger repair zones and damage under the roof.

First have the size, cause, accessibility and desired planning assessed. We then compare repair, renovation and, where necessary, replacement without selling a standard solution in advance.

Our primary technology

Cold processed. Highly protected.

The two-component membrane is processed without a hot spray installation. This enables a controlled application with roller or airless, depending on the project and work plan.

The waterproofing is not a separate end product. Substrate preparation, primer, critical details, mixing ratio, consumption and application conditions together form the system.

More than roof coating

One 2K technology, several complete waterproofing systems.

The technology can be widely used, but the system structure is never universal. Each application has its own surface preparation, primer, detailing, consumption and evidence.

Fast-track systems thinking

Faster processing without skipping technical steps.

Under appropriate conditions, quick-drying primers, short overcoat windows and an early rain-resistant 2K membrane can practically limit the implementation time. This is especially valuable at operational business locations where downtime, weather risk and phasing weigh heavily.

  • Surface firstMoisture, cohesion, adhesion and contamination determine whether a fast route is responsible.
  • Primer as system layerThe primer is chosen based on the surface and load; not as a generic addition.
  • Details before the planeSeams, bilges, drains and penetrations are worked out in advance and reinforced where necessary.
  • Register conditionsTemperature, relative humidity, mixing, consumption and recoating time remain control points.
“Fast” is always project specific. Drying, rain resistance and commissioning are only confirmed after product selection and checking of the implementation conditions.

Technical variant matrix

Not every roof requires the same membrane.

Within the same system family, PolyShield selects the variant that suits UV exposure, layer thickness, root pressure, use and implementation window. This choice will only be made after inspection and document control.

01 / Primary route

Premium elastic 2K polyurea

The broad renovation route for larger commercial roofs and structures, with substrate-specific primer, targeted detail reinforcement and a white UV-resistant final layer.

  • Planned roof renovation
  • Concrete, bitumen and metal
  • Armed and unarmed construction
02 / Exposed and walkable

Fully aliphatic 2K variant

For exposed surfaces where very high UV stability, mechanical stress and long-term water stress come together.

  • Walkable roofs
  • High UV load
  • Protective layer over suitable membranes
03 / High build

Thick-layered 2K variant

Can be assessed as a controlled single-layer variant on a sufficiently smooth and level surface. Details, consumption and surface preparation remain separate system steps.

  • Flat mineral roofs
  • High mechanical resistance
  • Early rainproof route
04 / Root loaded

Root-resistant 2K variant

For green roofs and large planters where demonstrable resistance to root penetration is part of the complete hidden roof structure.

  • Green roofs
  • Planters
  • Protective and drainage layers required

05 / Alternative fast-track route

Fast drying 1K-PU

A water-based one-component system for suitable roof renovations with short overlay windows and limited weather risk. This is a different technology than our premium 2K polyurea system.

  • Fast maintenance projects
  • Early rain resistance possible
  • Low VOC route according to product specification
Important

“One coat”, “same day ready” and solid rain resistance are never universal promises. They only apply with the correct substrate, layer thickness, temperature, humidity and completely approved structure.

The premium difference

A membrane is only as reliable as the complete system.

A simple coating may be suitable as a maintenance layer. In a waterproof renovation system, the substrate, adhesion and the weakest details are also demonstrably taken into account.

Loose maintenance layer
  • Focus on the visible roof surface
  • Preparation may vary per provider
  • Primer not always part of the approach
  • Mainly aimed at maintenance or reflection
PolyShield 2K system
  • Inspection of roof structure and residual moisture
  • Restoration and cleaning before application
  • Surface-specific primer as a system layer
  • Reinforcement of seams, bilges and penetrations
  • 2K waterproof membrane with controlled consumption
  • Registration and delivery control

Complete system construction

Seven checkpoints before delivery.

  1. 01
    Roof inspection

Assess roof structure, moisture, adhesion, slope and details.

  2. 02
    Cleaning

Remove dirt, loose parts and disturbing contaminants.

  3. 03
    Restore

Treat weak areas and defects before containment.

  4. 04
    Enhance details

Treat seams, curbs, drains and transitions in a targeted manner.

  5. 05
    Apply primer

Adjust the adhesive layer to the substrate specific to the project.

  6. 06
    2K membrane

Check components, mixing, consumption and conditions.

  7. 07
    Deliver

Record end result, details and relevant implementation data.

Business decision value

Not just waterproof. Also manageable.

For an owner or manager, it is not only the layer applied that counts, but also the predictability of preparation, implementation and maintenance.

01

Fewer interfaces

Substrate, details, primer and membrane are assessed as one project scope.

02

Plannable implementation

Work zones, weather conditions, accessibility and business operations are coordinated in advance.

03

Controllable quality

Consumption, application conditions, details and residual points are included in the delivery.

04

Maintainable solution

Inspection and local repair can become part of the maintenance strategy.

From claim to evidence

Technical performance is part of the tested structure.

01

System variant

Substrate, primer, any reinforcement, membrane consumption and end application are recorded as one variant.

02

Project conditions

Moisture, temperature, details, water load and future use load are assessed before implementation.

03

Classifications

ETA, CE, fire, root and use classifications are only linked to the configuration for which they demonstrably apply.

04

Delivery file

Relevant checks, photos, consumption, deviations and maintenance points are recorded project-specifically.

First suitability check

Is 2K polyurea suitable for this roof?

This classification is a preselection. A final decision requires inspection, substrate data and, where necessary, measurements or test adhesion.

01 / Promising

Technically suitable for further investigation

  • Stable and sufficiently dry roof structure
  • Repairable seams, edges and details
  • Larger planned renovation project
  • Need a seamless white waterproofing
02 / Investigate first

Additional project information needed

  • Unknown roof structure or old coating
  • Puddle formation, blistering or local detachment
  • PVC/TPO or multiple existing layers
  • Doubts about moisture, adhesion or movement
03 / Restore first

Do not enclose directly with a membrane

  • Wet or saturated insulation
  • Loose roofing
  • Construction defects
  • Unresolved active leak cause

Frequently asked questions

Technical clarity before application.

Is this system directly suitable for every surface mentioned?

No. The substrate must fall within the approved system scope and is checked for cohesion, moisture, contamination, movement and adhesion. The correct preparation and primer are then recorded.

Is the layer structure shown always the same?

The functions remain recognizable, but primer, reinforcement, number of layers and consumption may differ per substrate and load. The final structure is stated in the project specification.

Can the system be installed over existing waterproofing?

Only when material, mounting and condition are known and a compatible structure can be demonstrated. For unknown membranes or coatings, we first carry out identification and test adhesion.

Is cold-applied 2K polyurea quickly rainproof?

Rainproof routes are possible early within appropriate system and implementation conditions. The exact time depends on the selected product, temperature, humidity, substrate and layer structure and is therefore confirmed project-specifically.

Where can 2K polyurea be applied?

Possible applications include commercial roofs, concrete, metal, balconies, terraces, waterproofing under tiling, foundations and certain covered or water-loaded structures. Each application requires its own approved system structure.

What lifespan or warranty applies?

Technical ratings and expected useful lives are for specifically rated systems. The project guarantee also depends on the surface, scope, implementation, maintenance and written agreements.

What is the first step?

A project screening and inspection. We record construction, surface, damage picture, water load, details, accessibility and desired planning.
