Renovation floors for existing commercial real estate

First understand the existing floor, then choose a closed or vapor-open route.

Existing floors may be contaminated, damp, weak or have been over-coated several times. Rapid overcoating without diagnosis then increases the risk. PolyShield links destructive and non-destructive testing to recovery, preparation and an appropriate Rapid, Granite or VaporFlow route.

Technical answers before system choice.

Can a damp basement floor be coated?+

Sometimes, but not with every closed system. First, moisture source, water pressure and supporting floor must be examined; VaporFlow is for selected situations only.

Does the old coating always have to be removed?+

Not always. Retention is only justified when type, adhesion, compatibility and load have been sufficiently demonstrated.

Can cracks disappear under a new floor?+

Cracks can be repaired, but active movement requires an appropriate detail or joint solution. A coating does not undo constructive movement.
