NEW BUILD / BALCONY SYSTEMS

Repeatable details for complete residential blocks.

With dozens of balconies or long galleries, quality is created through repeatability. PolyShield translates sills, drains, curbs, cracks and foot loads into one executable system protocol per balcony type.

Activities

Balconies and galleries as a complete system scope.

With dozens of balconies or long galleries, quality is created through repeatability. PolyShield translates sills, drains, curbs, cracks and foot loads into one executable system protocol per balcony type.

  • Apartment buildings
  • Housing association projects
  • Gallery flats
  • Balconies above utility areas
  • Larger roof terraces within new construction
PROBLEM → RISK → SOLUTION

The technique must be clear before implementation.

01 / PROBLEM

A small deviating sill or drain detail can be repeated dozens of times and thus become a project-wide risk.

02 / PROJECT RISK
  • Water behind curbs or sills
  • Insufficient slope
  • Crack transmission in the finish
  • Slippery walking areas
  • Color or texture difference between building blocks
03 / POLYSHIELD ROUTE

We standardize the system structure per balcony type, create trial details and process the series in a controlled manner with a UV-resistant 2K route.

Project value

What the complete system delivers.

  1. 01Uniform appearance
  2. 02Seamless waterproofing
  3. 03Non-slip finish
  4. 04Short phasing per housing block
  5. 05Traceable detail control
TECHNICAL ROUTE

Four manageable phases.

01

Type classification

Balconies and galleries are grouped by surface, sill, drain and geometry.

02

Primer and details

Sills, bilges, drains and cracks are given a recorded detail before the plane follows.

03

2K membrane

An elastic waterproofing layer provides continuous protection of the building part.

04

Wear-resistant finish

Grip, color, UV load and cleaning determine the final finish.

Release criteria

When the system can — and cannot yet — start.

Slope

Water must demonstrably be able to go to the drain; coating does not correct a structural deficiency in slope.

Sill height

Connections to doors must be technically and structurally cleared before implementation.

Serial control

An approved test surface and test detail become the reference for the rest of the project.

QUALITY FILE

Don't just apply.
Also deliver demonstrably.

  • Balcony type matrix
  • Test detail and test area
  • Checklist per series
  • Consumption and implementation registration
  • Delivery file per building block

FOR THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM

Information for every decision maker.

Main contractor

A repeatable working method with clear dependencies and inspection moments.

Architect

Technical boundaries, color and texture were coordinated early with the design.

Residential investor

A maintainable outdoor area with uniform system information.

Technical questions

Frequently asked questions.

Can every balcony have the same system?+

Not automatically. Differences in substrate, slope, sills, drains and loads may require a different detail or primer route.

Is the finish completely smooth?+

For walking areas we generally recommend a controlled anti-slip structure. The grain and seal layer are tailored to grip and cleanability.

When can the balcony finish be applied?+

After release of the substrate, moisture condition, slope and connection details. The planning is linked to facade, frame and finishing work.
