What fast-track really means

Water-based PU technology with short recoating times can be interesting when a multi-layer build-up must be planned within a short window. Early rain resistance reduces a risk, but does not make application during unsuitable weather justified.

Product specifications apply within conditions for temperature, humidity, substrate moisture, layer thickness and ventilation.

Preparation remains the critical phase

Cleaning, drying, repairing, priming and treating details take time that is not lost by a fast membrane. Especially with a short implementation window, these activities must be logically phased in advance.

A damp but not wet surface may be permitted within the product specification for some systems. This must be confirmed per primer, substrate and project.

When the route is interesting

The technology can suit suitable medium-sized roofs, walkable areas and maintenance of compatible existing membranes. Very low VOC and water-based processing can be extra relevant for homes and used buildings.

For larger, more complex or mechanically more heavily loaded roofs, a complete 2K polyurea route may be a stronger fit. The choice follows from the application, not from speed alone.
