PolyShield Steel
Protect steel construction
Control corrosion with appropriate preparation and registered layer build-up.
PolyShield performs this
Corrosion repair and metal protection
Protect metal roofs, facades and steel before material loss leads to replacement.
- 01Inspect corrosion, salts and existing coating
- 02Clean and mechanically prepare
- 03Perform primer and detail repair
- 04Check protective layers and dry layer thickness
From damage picture to solution
Problem, cause and effect first visible.
- Weather and industrial loads
- Cutting edges, fasteners and overlaps
- Insufficient preparation for previous maintenance
Corrosion can affect sheet thickness, connections and water tightness.
Corrosion control, project-specific preparation and a registered protective layer build-up.
Business benefits
The value is not just in the new layer.
Material conservation
Retain technically usable plates and steel parts for longer.
Scale
Large profiled surfaces where responsible airless treatment.
Waterproofing
Include seams, gutters and fasteners as critical zones.
Control
Visibly document preparation and layer thickness.
Surface corrosion can progress to material loss, leaking details and expensive panel or structural replacement.
First have the size, cause, accessibility and desired planning assessed. We then compare repair, renovation and, where necessary, replacement without selling a standard solution in advance.
Have project assessed →SUITABLE FOR
Business applications with a clear technical question.
- Industrial halls
- Outside steel
- Industrial installations
System approach
Assess corrosion class and existing layer
Degreasing, desalting and mechanical preparation
Apply primer and intermediate layers in a controlled manner
Register final coat and dry layer thickness
Application boundaries
Assess first.
Only then specify.
- Do not include corrosion
- Determine the degree of pretreatment on a project-specific basis
- Engineer fire resistance and heavy chemicals separately
Control profile
The division is broader than the application.
PolyShield assesses preparation, implementation and delivery as one coherent technical scope.
- 01Corrosion class and salts
- 02Pretreatment degree
- 03Layer thickness and climate
Can be processed quickly where responsible
Less downtime starts with the right system choice.
Where technically appropriate, PolyShield works with fast-reacting primers, two-component membranes and fast protective layers. The benefit lies not only in curing, but in a work plan in which preparation, recoating times and recommissioning are aligned in advance.
- 01
Fast-drying primers and 2K protective layers where climate and preparation suit
- 02
Treat details and corrosion zones before the large surfaces
- 03
Use overlay areas without contamination or condensation between layers
Two metal routes
Siding requires something different than heavy exterior steel.
For metal facades and sheet metal in temperate environments, a water-based direct-to-metal system can combine primer and satin finish. For steel in heavy industrial or maritime loads, a higher corrosion profile is selected and documented.
The choice is based on corrosiveness category, desired lifespan, existing layer, salts, accessibility and feasible pre-treatment. “All-in-one” does not replace that assessment.
Selection by environment
From representative facade to C4–C5 load.
Direct-to-metal renovation
Water-based corrosion protection and color finish for metal siding, eaves and components in a suitable environment.
- Primer and finish within one system family
- UV and weather resistant satin finish
- Color selection at project level
- First test adhesion to existing layers
High-performance steel protection
Water-based one-component route for heavy industrial and maritime outdoor loads, selected for demonstrable classification and service life.
- Determine corrosion class in advance
- Specify pre-treatment project-specifically
- Register dry layer thickness per working pass
- Only claim certification for the proven structure
