Choosing a coating system for a new-build parking garage

A ramp, roadway, parking space and pedestrian zone are charged differently. A good floor plan translates these differences into layer structure, texture, color and control.
01

Design by use zone

Work with a zone plan instead of one generic floor description. For example, roughness, wear, drainage and visual guidance are selected specifically.

  • Lanes and curves
  • Ramps
  • Parking spaces
  • Pedestrian routes
  • Technical rooms and entrances
02

Moisture and planning are selection criteria

Young concrete and time pressure require a conscious priming and finishing route. Measurement results and product conditions determine whether application is responsible.

Fast-curing 2K and polyaspartic systems can shorten phasing, provided substrate preparation, ventilation and logistics are organised.

03

Management starts with delivery

Record cleaning advice, inspection points, color zones and repair principles. This gives the owner a floor that remains manageable not only upon delivery, but also during operation.

PROJECTCHECK

Five points to determine in advance.

  1. 01Zone and traffic plan available
  2. 02Moisture and subsurface strategy determined
  3. 03Slip level selected per zone
  4. 04Connections and gutters worked out
  5. 05Maintenance plan part of transfer

Frequently asked questions

Short and technical answers.

Can a parking floor be put into use quickly?

Fast systems can limit waiting time. The actual release depends on temperature, layer structure, subsurface and traffic load.

Is anti-slip the same everywhere?

No. Too much texture makes cleaning difficult; too little can be unsafe. Choose the balance per zone.

Bij een projectspecifieke keuze zijn actuele TDS, SDS, DoP, classificaties, ondergrondmetingen en toepasselijke systeemverklaringen altijd leidend. Claims voor een losse component gelden niet automatisch voor de volledige opbouw.
