ETAG 005 is historical terminology
ETAG 005 was the European assessment guideline for liquid-applied roof waterproofing kits. For current communication, it is more accurate to identify the applicable EAD and the product-specific ETA.
For this product family, EOTA refers to EAD 030350-00-0402 as the subsequent assessment route. An old reference may show relevant history, but is not in itself a current certificate.
An EAD describes the assessment method
A European Assessment Document contains methods by which performance of a product family is assessed. The document does not say that every product within that family automatically has the same performance.
That is why we never publish an EAD number alone as proof of a specific roof coating. This requires a link with the exact ETA and declaration of performance.
An ETA is product specific
A European Technical Assessment describes the intended use and assessed performance of a specific product or system kit. Components, variants and application boundaries must correspond to what is actually processed.
An ETA remains product proof. The suitability of an existing roof, local regulations and correct implementation still require a project assessment.
- Exact ETA number and date of issue
- Product and component names
- Intended use
- Declared performance
- Application and performance conditions
CE and DoP in the evidence route
The declaration of performance provides the declared performance based on the applicable technical specification. CE makes performance comparable across Europe, but is not a universal quality label for every application.
A professional quotation therefore not only mentions CE, but translates relevant performance into the proposed project structure.
What PolyShield checks per project
We link documentation to system variant, substrate, primer, detailed structure, consumption and exposure. If a current document is missing or the project structure is different, the status remains to be verified.
This evidentiary limit protects the client and executor against overly broad commercial claims.
This explanation is general and does not constitute project-specific system advice. Subsurface investigation, tax and official system documentation remain decisive.
